Marcos Declares Local Holidays for Several Areas Across the Philippines

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has declared special non-working holidays in several localities across the Philippines in recognition of their respective founding anniversaries and festivals.

In Proclamation No. 855, Marcos announced that April 26, 2025, will be a special non-working day in the Municipality of Rizal, Cagayan, in celebration of its founding anniversary.

Additionally, Proclamation No. 856 declared May 14, 2025, as a special non-working day in the Municipality of Pulilan, Bulacan, in honor of the Kneeling Carabao Festival.

Marcos also issued Proclamation No. 857, designating May 19, 2025, as a special non-working day in the City of Butuan to commemorate the Balangay Festival.

Proclamation No. 858 further declared April 21, 2025, as a special non-working day in the Municipality of Natonin, Mountain Province, in observance of the First Sas-alliwa Festival.

In a similar vein, Proclamation No. 859 declared April 25, 2025, a special non-working day in the Municipality of Infanta, Quezon, marking its founding anniversary.

These local holidays are part of the government’s ongoing efforts to recognize the cultural significance and historical importance of local events and traditions.
