Thousands of children across Staffordshire will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities this Easter as part of the Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) programme.
Running from April 14th to April 25th, the scheme offers a range of engaging sessions, including sports, arts and crafts, animal care, and wellbeing activities, specifically designed for children aged five to 16 who are eligible for free school meals.
Eligible children can book up to four funded sessions, with many of them including a healthy hot meal.
Cllr Mark Sutton, the Cabinet Member for Children and Young People at Staffordshire County Council, expressed his enthusiasm for the programme:
“We’re thrilled to bring back the HAF programme this Easter, offering children and young people across Staffordshire the chance to enjoy fantastic experiences. Our Easter programme is designed to promote learning, growth, and fun, ensuring that every child can make the most of their school holidays.”
Cllr Sutton continued, “Whether they are looking to try a new hobby, make new friends, or simply have fun, there is something for everyone.”
In addition to the funded places, some clubs are offering paid opportunities for children and young people to participate in the activities.
The HAF programme aims to support families during the school break, offering both enriching experiences and the benefits of social interaction and physical activity.
