The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Azerbaijan has issued a set of guidelines for citizens and visitors planning to celebrate the Nowruz holiday in the liberated territories of Karabakh. The department emphasized the importance of adhering to safety protocols during the festive period.
In a statement released by the MIA, authorities confirmed that police forces will operate in an enhanced mode to ensure the security of both citizens and tourists throughout the holiday season.
“During the holidays, law enforcement officers will be deployed in increased numbers to ensure the safety of individuals traveling in these areas. However, it is essential that citizens recognize their personal responsibility to follow all safety rules,” the statement read.
The MIA clarified that individuals traveling to the region will be allowed to move freely, provided they follow the designated routes. It is strictly prohibited to use secondary roads or deviate from prescribed paths.
Additionally, the Ministry advised against bringing prohibited items such as alcoholic beverages, flammable materials, or explosives into the liberated territories. Visitors are encouraged to restrict their movements to officially designated recreational areas.
The MIA also issued specific instructions for areas such as Shusha, Lachin, Zangilan, Fuzuli, Agdere, and other scenic locations in Karabakh. Travelers are reminded to respect local safety guidelines, avoid actions that could cause public disturbances, and ensure their behavior contributes to the region’s atmosphere of peace and stability.
“As we celebrate this special occasion, let us come together in unity, fostering a safe, prosperous, and joyful environment for all,” the statement concluded.
