The Punjab government has officially declared a 10-day holiday for schools across the province in celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr, according to a report from a private TV channel.
Secretary of School Education, Khalid Nazir Wattoo, confirmed the announcement on Wednesday, stating that the holidays will begin on March 28 and continue through April 6. Schools are scheduled to reopen on April 7, marking the start of the new academic year.
In addition, Wattoo revealed that the results for the annual exams will be announced on April 4.
While Eid-ul-Fitr is expected to be observed on March 31 in Pakistan, the federal government has only granted three days of holiday for public sector employees. Other provinces, including Sindh, are anticipated to announce similar extended holidays for schools and colleges. It is important to note that private educational institutions in Pakistan typically set their own holiday schedules.
