The UAE has officially announced the Eid Al Fitr holiday dates for public sector employees, as confirmed by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources. The holiday will begin on Shawwal 1 and end on Shawwal 3, 1446 AH, aligning with the Gregorian calendar.
Government offices will resume operations on Shawwal 4.
The moon sighting, a key determinant for marking the start of Eid, will take place on March 29. Given that Islamic months can span 29 or 30 days, if the crescent moon is sighted on March 29, Eid will be observed on March 30, 31, and April 1. However, if the moon is not visible, and Ramadan extends to a full 30 days, the first day of Shawwal will fall on March 31, with the holiday then occurring on March 31, April 1, and April 2.
