The Novruz holiday was celebrated in Switzerland’s capital, Bern, with a special cultural event organized at the renowned Yehudi Menuhin Forum concert hall. The event was supported by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Switzerland and the “Friends of Azerbaijan” diaspora association.
The program featured an impressive lineup of performances showcasing Azerbaijani national music and culture. Mugham singers Miralam Miralamov and Ravana Gurbanova, tar musician Rovshan Gurbanov, and kamancha player Toghrul Asadullayev captivated the audience with traditional Azerbaijani music. Additionally, the “Rhythm” dance group performed vibrant folk dances, adding to the cultural richness of the event.
In conjunction with the musical and dance performances, a photography exhibition by Andre Jabali was inaugurated, highlighting the natural beauty of Azerbaijan.
The celebrations culminated in a traditional Novruz bonfire dance, where both Azerbaijani expatriates and local residents joined in a festive display of unity in one of Bern’s historical squares.
The event was well-received by the Swiss public, drawing significant interest from attendees who enjoyed the cultural exchange and festive atmosphere.
