Macau Sees Surge in Visitor Arrivals During Qingming Festival Holiday

Macau experienced a notable increase in visitor arrivals during the three-day Qingming Festival holiday, with approximately 410,000 people entering the region between April 4 and 6. This marks a 14.7% rise compared to the same period in 2024, according to the latest data from the Public Security Police Force (PSP).

Of the total visitors, 73.7% were from mainland China, accounting for around 301,000 arrivals. In addition, approximately 72,000 visitors, or 17.6% of the total, came from Hong Kong.

On average, about 136,000 visitors arrived each day during the holiday, representing a 21% increase from February’s daily average of 112,000 arrivals.

The total number of arrivals and departures combined reached 671,000 daily during the holiday, reflecting a 10.8% year-on-year increase from 1.82 million during the same period in 2024.

Among the region’s various control points, the Border Gate saw the highest traffic, with 1.01 million passenger trips, accounting for 50.2% of the total. The Qingmao Port recorded 311,000 passenger trips, or 15.5%, while the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge (HZMB) and Hengqin Control Point saw 273,000 (13.6%) and 260,000 (12.9%) trips, respectively.
